Description Head Gasket for VAG 1.9 TDI engines including the 1Z, AFN, and AHU Please measure piston projection from the cylinder block to select the correct thickness head gasket. There are 3 thickness’s available 1 Notch is for piston projections of 0.91 to 1.00mm, gasket is 1.45mm thick. 2 Notch is for piston projections of 1.01 to 1.10mm, gasket is 1.53mm thick. 3 Notch is for piston projections of 1.11 to 1.20mm, gasket is 1.61mm thick.
