DescriptionA pattern from Stitchy Princess in Ukraine. This sampler features many references to the Ukrainian countryside and folklore and symbolises new life and joy. Birds are nesting in pairs or feeding their young and two white birds with wings spread out seem to be raining drops of gold into the family nest, which is perched above a traditional carved wood hut roof. The young girl in the centre is wearing a long embroidered dress over a white blouse. Her hair is woven into a single braid, Ukrainian style and from her turban head dress flows a light white veil suggesting she is getting ready for a celebration. The stitch count is 123H x 123W and if stitched on 14ct Aida or 28ct fabric, the finished size would be 22 x 22 cm. It could be stitched onto any count of fabric and any colour. There are 9 DMC colours in the design in spring colours. The Kit includes: the pattern, 9 skeins cotton, 14ct Aida Platinum, a needle and bobbins.
